Session 3- Adding a background

1) Today I scanned a lined drawing and opened it in my emails.
2) I saved it as a JPEG.
3) I went on to Photoshop by using the shortcut Alt+shift+Ctrl+O(open as) I added by line drawing
4)I used the image button at the top to rotate the line drawing the right way.
5) Next I used ctrl+l to change the hue/saturation.
6)On the layers section there was a padlock so I removed this by dragging it into the bin. Also I changed the 'normal , to 'multiple'
7)I inserted a new layer.

8) on this new layer i dragged a box and went to the paint bucket tool and selected a colour
I experimented with the gradient tool and managed to create a two colour background. I then clicked back on to my first layer and used the 'magic lasso' and selected my line drawing and copied it using (ctrl+c) and pasted next to the original line drawing.

Session 2-T-shirt project, my own work

First of all I positioned my top on to the mannequin. When I did this I wanted to to get the natural light and no camera shake so I held my breath and released when I took my picture.

I up loaded my picture to photoshop by opening it as a picture. I then used the ‘quick selection tool’ to select my t-shirt. Once it was all selected I copied it using (ctrl c ) and used ctrl v, which opened a new layer. I went to the layer and selected my new layer. On my new layer I used the ‘magnetic tool’ to get rid of any excess, to make multiply selections I used the shift key. The back key was used to get rid of my selections.

I then went back to my first layer where I went to ‘layers and selected adjustments, from here I selected hue/saturation. I played around with the background to make by t-shirt stand out from the background

A click is all it takes … that split seconds, can change your life
!
I alert all parents; I repeat all parents, keep watch but give your child space. The worst thing you can do is be over protective. These days the internet it a miracle, a tool with all functions, it’s almost like a human with an overload of cleverness.  It one of those things that grandma would say “We didn’t have those things when we were at school, we had to use books or our brains!” and turn her nose up in disgust. My point I am trying to make is that the world is involving and we are in the twentieth century but you need to protect your children, grandchildren, no matter what the age.  Let your child research but let them know you are there to help and you don’t always need a computer to find something out. Let your child socialise but let them know there is a park down the road and only ever meet up with people you know (in person). Finally you could always experience computers you self and explore the world with the click of the mouse that your child does a million times a day. Parents if you access the internet think about what you are posting would you want your child to see it or your parents.

Students of the earth, I would like to address you, I heard your teacher tell you to research fashion but did they inform you about the safety of the internet or let you know reliable and unreliable sites. I bet they did but you have forgot or think it cool to ignore and rule the school/ college. However despite the  amazing functions some sites have the negatives (just like everything) , in particularly social media , yes the site you just added a friend … one you don’t actually know but it’s cool to have millions of friends.  Step away from the keyboard a STOP THINK AND ACT SENSIBLY!

Stand up to the bully’s. Don’t be scared. tell some. Research has shown that cyber bullying is more common that any other type of bullying. My most important piece of advice is that beware of what pictures you post and if the bullying stops … STOP IT! And if you don't know that friend ... why add them ... DON'T!

Session 1 - Photoshop selection tool

First of all I learnt how to select  my page size. To do this I used the short cut of ctrl+m which opened up a box, There was a drop down box where I clicked 'internatial paper' then i clicked A3.

Once I selected my page size I then went on to google and copied a image. Here I learnt how to get a large image and play around with colours. I copied my picture onto photoshop.

To brighten up my image I used the contrasting shortcut (ctrl+l) this allowed me to make my image brighter or duller.

The most important tool I used was the selction tool, If you right click on the selction tool and select 'magic wand' you can click away the part of the image you dont want and press delete. If you want to do multiple selection press shift .

If you have got rid of the things you want and you now have your floating image if you select the background with the magic wand and right click and press 'select inverse' .ow it will select the image.

ctrl+c = copy
ctrl + v = paste
