A click is all it takes … that split seconds, can change
your life
!
I alert all parents; I repeat all parents, keep watch but
give your child space. The worst thing you can do is be over protective. These
days the internet it a miracle, a tool with all functions, it’s almost like a
human with an overload of cleverness. It
one of those things that grandma would say “We didn’t have those things when we
were at school, we had to use books or our brains!” and turn her nose up in
disgust. My point I am trying to make is that the world is involving and we are
in the twentieth century but you need to protect your children, grandchildren,
no matter what the age. Let your child
research but let them know you are there to help and you don’t always need a
computer to find something out. Let your child socialise but let them know
there is a park down the road and only ever meet up with people you know (in
person). Finally you could always experience computers you self and explore the
world with the click of the mouse that your child does a million times a day.
Parents if you access the internet think about what you
are posting would you want your child to see it or your parents.
Students of the
earth, I would like to address you, I heard your teacher tell you to research
fashion but did they inform you about the safety of the internet or let you
know reliable and unreliable sites. I bet they did but you have forgot or think
it cool to ignore and rule the school/ college. However despite the amazing functions some sites have the
negatives (just like everything) , in particularly social media , yes the site you just added a friend … one
you don’t actually know but it’s cool to have millions of friends. Step away from the keyboard a STOP THINK AND
ACT SENSIBLY!
Stand up to the bully’s. Don’t be scared. tell some.
Research has shown that cyber bullying is more common that any other type of
bullying. My most important piece of advice is that beware of what pictures you
post and if the bullying stops … STOP IT! And if you don't know that friend ... why add them ... DON'T!
